MacOS 10 is an old operating system that has stopped receiving software updates and fixes needed for more modern platforms, including Clubtreasurer. If you try to access Clubtreasurer from MacOS 10, you may experience issues including unresponsive menus, missing page regions and login issues.

If you are unable to upgrade your machine to a newer OS (highly recommended) you will need to use a specialised browser. Since standard Chrome, Safari, and Firefox have abandoned macOS 10, users with older Macs can switch to a free, secure browser called Chromium-Legacy. It is specifically built to bring modern web features to older Mac operating systems. You can download it safely here:

Releases · blueboxd/chromium-legacy

  • Use the top 1303823 release and expand the Assets box

  • Click the 1303823.zip to download it

  • Open your Downloads folder and double-click the downloaded file. It will unzip into a blue Chromium browser icon.

  • Drag that blue icon into your Mac's Applications folder.

  • Open it from the Applications folder and you will be able to login into Clubtreasurer

Troubleshooting

If you get an error saying the app is damaged → The app is not actually damaged. What you are seeing is Apple’s built-in security system (Gatekeeper) overreacting. Because Chromium-Legacy is an open-source, community-maintained project, it doesn't have an official Apple Developer digital signature. When you download an unsigned file, macOS automatically blocks it with the "damaged" error.

To get past this, you need to manually tell the Mac to trust the app. Follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Click "Cancel"

    • Do not to click "Move to Trash." Just hit Cancel to close that error box.

  • Step 2: Clear the "Quarantine" Flag via Terminal

    • Open the Mac's Applications folder, go into the Utilities folder, and launch the Terminal app.

    • Copy and paste this exact command into the Terminal window and press Enter:

      • xattr -cr /Applications/Chromium.app

  • Step 3: Open the App normally and login to Clubtreasurer.
