How do I change my Username?

Your Username is automatically generated from the email address used when your account was first created. Usernames are permanent and cannot be changed directly.

Updating your Email vs. Username

While you can update your contact email at any time (Setup > My Details), please note:

  • Updating your email does not update your Username.

  • This creates a mismatch where you login with an old email address but receive notifications at a new one.

Recommended solution

If you need your Username to match your current email address, you will need to replace your account:

  1. Request a New Account: Ask your Primary Contact to create a new user profile using your preferred email address.

  2. Set Up the New Login: The email address used for this new profile will automatically become your new Username.

  3. Remove the Old Account: Once the new account is active, your Primary Contact can delete your old profile.

Note: Before deleting the old account, ensure any personal settings or specific permissions have been mirrored on the new one.


Instructions (Primary Contact only)

  1. Log in and navigate to Setup > Users > Add New User.
  2. Create the new user account using the updated email address.
    • Note: The email address entered will become the user’s Username.
    • If you are creating a replacement account for yourself (as Primary Contact), ensure the new user’s Financial User-Type is set to MANAGER.
  3. Ask your user to log in and confirm the new account is working correctly.
  4. Once confirmed, delete the old user account for security purposes.
    • This will also free up one of your maximum user allocations.

 

Additional steps when replacing your own Primary Contact account

  1. Log in using your old user account.
  2. Set the new user as Primary Contact
    (Setup > Users > open the new user account > Set as Primary Contact).
  3. Sign out and log back in using the new account (now the Primary Contact).
  4. Delete the old user account.
