How do I enter the refund against a recent purchase?

Your scenario is that you have purchased an item which was subsequently returned and you received a refund.  So, how do you enter the refund against the purchase?

Because Clubtreasurer manages cash-flows (ie. cash in / cash out) it is important to enter both transactions. 

The easiest way to enter the refund is to open the original Payment transaction and reverse it by clicking the “Reverse”  button. This will create a mirror transaction that reverses out the original transaction whilst also maintaining an audit trail (ie. you will have 2 transactions in your accounts).

The Reverse function ensures the reversal is charged to the same Cost Code / Account etc..  Editing is limited but you can edit the date you received the refund, the account it was paid into, and update the comments.
