Direct attachments to transactions

It would be very useful to be able to directly upload a picture / file as an attachment to the transactions, without needing to link to a third party system like Google Drive or similar.

@7862robins I concur with you in principle from a usability point of view but I suppose that would mean Clubtreasurer needs to have its own cloud based file store with backup etc. which is likely to significantly increase the cost of clubtreasurer as their hosting costs would be significant.  There would also be GDPR and other cybersecurity risks for CT to deal with as they become responsible for the files (and content of the files) when hosted in their system... with the current solution this is not a problem for CT but an issue for the user (for example by using google drive).

Hi @7862robins, thanks for your comments which align closely with our perspective. We feel that having individual organisations host their own files and images strikes the right balance between convenience, cost, and data security. This approach also allows us to expand similar features across the system, like the recent addition of Bank Statement attachments on the Bank Reconciliation page.

Hi, this is technically possible today (eg. we allow this in Support Tickets) but we have not progressed this to date for commercial reasons and little demand.
