API - again - needed for AI

I posted about this nearly a year ago, and added a feature request. In the age of AI, to have an API for Clubtreasurer is getting more and more important.

With an API, we could create an MCP server (Model Context Protocol) that would enable us to use Clubtreasurer from an AI. I accept that many club treasurers will have no idea what this is, but it's coming. I am looking forward to the day when the administration of our group is done largely by AI, and we spend our time being more productive. There are many things we spend time on now such as adding new members, changing details, getting lists etc. that could be done pretty much automatically.

I think if Clubtreasurer doesn't get ahead of this trend, another app will come along that will.

And this shouldn't be difficult for the developers to implement. I would hope they are already using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity to make any changes to their code. Any changes to functionality should be taking a fraction of the time they used to take before we had this assistance.

I'd be interested to hear comments from Clubtreasurer staff on this.
