If you need to correct or delete an older or prior-year Asset transaction you cannot simply open and edit it.

In the Asset's transaction schedule the entries are likely to be locked for two reasons:

  1. Age locked: If the entry is in a prior-year it will be age-locked to prevent accidental changes or deletion => You can easily unlock this by changing your Financial Year-End back to the transaction's year (Navigate to Setup>Organisation>Financial Year-End) - Please see this FAQ page for more details: https://clubtreasurer.com/blog/community/postid/37/
  2. Later Asset transactions exist: Because asset depreciation, impairment losses, revaluation gains, etc.. are based on earlier transactions, you must delete the most recent transaction first and work backwards until you get to the transaction that needs correcting. Then, delete this too. You can then re-enter the correct transaction and any subsequent transactions.
    • Tip - make sure you have a record of all your deleted transactions so you can easily re-enter them.

Once your changes are made, move your Financial Year-End back to your current year.
